CAPSTONE PROJECT
Loss of Childhood
50x57cm, Spraypaint and collage on panel
They thought they could quench my anger?
I draw their names with my blood
Spending so much time
Living in a reality that isn’t mine
The flame won’t burn you, it’s warm
They lied and said it would leave scars
My mind merges with my reality
Bewitched, I seek deeper clarity
Teaching children to hand over their swords
I lost my weapon, so I’ll use my words
Hands made to create beauty are
Handling harsh hubris
I read through the lines of your face
I see your tired soul
We carry the thrones of kings we did not elect
As they crumble the walls our fathers created to protect
Us, the children, all brothers
Our thirst for justice, choices taken from others
Will be the kindling for the fires of the revolution
